Originally built as the harbor master’s private residence in the 1800s, Dock House is situated on the edge of the V&A Waterfront, Cape Town. This sophisticated and intimate boutique hotel overlooks the bustling harbor, with Table Mountain poised magnificently behind.
ACCESS & LOCATION:
The location of the Dock House gives you a sense of being slightly removed from the frenetic pace of the area yet still within easy reach of many attractions. Table Mountain, Robben Island, Camps Bay, Clifton and Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden are all nearby.
ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT DOCK HOUSE BOUTIQUE HOTEL & SPA:
The accommodation here is very special indeed. The glamorous suite and each of the five chic rooms has been individually decorated and imbued with a unique and understated Victorian elegance. The suite has access to a private garden, while the other ground-floor room opens onto a veranda overlooking the manicured garden and swimming-pool area. Three of the four upstairs rooms have balconies overlooking the waterfront’s scenic harbor and surroundings, and two of them can interconnect.
** For families with children under the age of 6 years, we always request a ground floor room or a room without a balcony for safety reasons. If you stay here with us, please ensure this is what you are given.**
ACTIVITIES AT DOCK HOUSE BOUTIQUE HOTEL & SPA:
- Queen Victoria Hotel hosts Dash, Dock House’s affiliated restaurant and bar, named after the Queen’s favorite pet. This 36-seat restaurant offers the ultimate in sophisticated fine dining.
- OYO is another affiliated restaurant. It is situated in the Waterfront and boasts picture-postcard views of the working harbor and Table Mountain.
- The groomed garden that surrounds the pool area is a lovely spot to soak up some of the sun’s rays in the summer months. The only negative point to this property is that it shares these areas with two sister properties in the area.
