Tanzania's Safari Highlights (8N) – Luxury

On the first day of your vacation, you’ll touch down at Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA), receiving a VIP Meet and Greet. From here, you’ll fly to Tarangire’s Kuro Airstrip (50 mins), and then you’ll have a shared road transfer to Sanctuary Swala Camp. This property has a lovely location, amidst immense acacia trees. Communal spaces feature plenty of comfy sofas, so you can sit back and enjoy views of wildlife at a nearby waterhole and on the plains beyond. Swala has an infinity pool too! Your accommodation consists of one of 12 canvas pavilions. Shaded by trees, each pavilion overlooks the waterhole from a private veranda. Inside, the tents are beautifully furnished, and amenities include complimentary Wi-Fi! Swala offers great game drives, as well as walking safaris and night drives. There is loads to see in the park – lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena, jackal, wild dog, buffalo, wildebeest, zebra, lots of types of antelope, and hundreds of species of bird. And if you’re here between June and October, you might well witness Tarangire’s elephant migration, when about three thousand grey guys move across the park in search of water!

After a couple of nights at Swala Camp, you’ll return to Kuro Airstrip via shared road transfer and fly to Lake Manyara Airport (15 mins), where you’ll be met by a private guide. This guide will be with you throughout your stay in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, making for truly bespoke experiences of the famous crater and all its wildlife. Entamanu is located well away from the cluster of properties in the Ngorongoro region, and it boasts breathtaking views. The communal lounge and dining areas are housed in a modest mess tent, and there’s a really friendly atmosphere. You’ll stay in a safari tent, benefiting from a comfortable bedroom with separate seating area as well as well-appointed en-suite facilities. On the day after your arrival, you’ll enjoy an expertly guided game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater. Wildlife highlights include all Big Five, numerous smaller predators and herbivores, and hundreds of birds! The camp also offers highlands walks and excursions to a local Maasai village.

The final few days of your trip are spent in the Serengeti. To get here, you’ll have a private road transfer to Lake Manyara Airport and then you’ll fly to Kogatende Airstrip (1 hr 15 mins). From Kogatende, you’ll have a shared road transfer to Lamai. Your accommodation will be a standard room. The standard here is very luxurious, and each room flows out onto a private deck. The camp’s communal spaces include pleasant lounges and a sparkling swimming pool! During your stay, you’ll have ample opportunities to go on guided game drives in the North Serengeti. This is a superb safari destination throughout the year, but please note that the camp is closed during April and May. Our recommended months are July through to October, as this period sees the astonishing Great Migration river crossings – huge herds of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelles hurtle through swift-flowing waters in their search for good grazing. Impressive concentrations of predators are at large too, and there’s lots of birdlife!
