Days 1–3 Cape Town

The Penthouse Bedroom

On the first day of your trip, you’ll touch down at Cape Town International Airport, receiving a VIP Meet & Greet. From here, you’ll travel via private road transfer to The Clarendon Fresnaye. This property is situated in the peaceful suburb of Fresnaye, on the slopes of the magnificent Lion’s Head! Its communal areas include a sumptuous lounge and dining room, as well as gorgeous gardens containing a spacious swimming pool. The accommodation option we’ve chosen for you is the superior room, featuring comfy king-size or twin beds, air-conditioning, a direct dial telephone, satellite television, a tea-and-coffee station, and a fully stocked mini-bar. There are also lovely views of the Atlantic Ocean! The Clarendon Fresnaye is perfectly positioned for you to explore all the major attractions of Cape Town, such as the V&A Waterfront, Table Mountain, the exhilarating city centre, and the brilliant beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay.

Days 4–6 Timbavati Private Nature Reserve

17. Private Bedroom   Veranda

On Day 4, you’ll leave The Clarendon Fresnaye and return to Cape Town’s international airport via private road transfer. You’ll board a flight bound for Hoedspruit Airport. Once you’ve landed, you’ll have another private road transfer to Motswari Geiger’s Camp. Available for exclusive use, this former family home is situated in its own reserve and it’s made up of two timber, stone, and thatch buildings. The first contains the communal areas, including a cosy lounge/library and a dining area. There’s also a dining deck, a boma with fire-pit, and a swimming pool! Guest accommodation takes the form of four sumptuous suites, each with characterful bedroom, well-appointed washroom, and private veranda. From this comfortable base, you can head out on vehicle and walking safaris, always in the presence of the camp’s knowledgeable and experienced guides. There’s a lot of wildlife to see in the reserve, not least all Big Five – lion, rhino, leopard, elephant, and buffalo – as well as numerous smaller predators and herbivores, and ample birdlife. Geiger’s also offers sleep-outs in the camp’s Giraffe’s Nest treehouse, which is positioned over a dam. If you enjoy being close to nature, you’ll love the experience of drifting off to sleep surrounded by the sounds of the bush!

Days 7–9 Sabi Sands Game Reserve

The final few days of your trip are spent at Notten’s Bush Camp, in the Sabi Sands. You’ll have a private road transfer here from Motswari Geiger’s Camp. Family owned and -run, Notten’s has a lovely laidback atmosphere and a fabulous location along the banks of the River Sabi. Communal spaces include comfortable lounge and dining areas, a bar, an open-air boma, and a deck. There’s also a spa, and a 20-metre lap pool! Guests are accommodated in sturdy safari chalets, each with well-presented bedroom, en-suite full bathroom, and sliding doors onto a private deck with amazing views. This area of the Sabi Sands is home to all Big Five, and it’s famous for its leopard sightings. Other wildlife in residence consists of cheetah, hyenas, jackals, wild dog, hippo, giraffe, wildebeest, zebra, an exciting assortment of antelopes, and hundreds of birds! Notten’s also offers photographic safaris, tours of the local Shangaan community, and golf on a course at Skukuza that’s just 45 minutes’ drive from the camp.

Board basis and activities:
All-inclusive accommodation, featuring three meals daily, a selection of alcoholic and soft drinks, and two game drives and one bush walk per day.

On your last day, you’ll have a shared road transfer from Notten’s Bush Camp to Skukuza Airport. From here, you’ll fly to Johannesburg’s O. R. Tambo International Airport, arriving in good time for your flight/s home.
