Victoria Falls, the greatest curtain of free-falling water in the world, is a truly awesome sight. Couple that with the fact that Zambia's South Luangwa is one of the finest safari parks anywhere... and you have one superb honeymoon!

Our value honeymoon itinerary flies you to two exhilarating areas! The trip begins 24 kilometres upstream from Victoria Falls. After three days of exploring the national park and enjoying as many watersports as you wish at the Falls, you will fly to the wildlife-rich South Luangwa National Park. The lodges we use in both destinations have a lovely romantic feel, featuring luxurious honeymoon turndowns!

You will stay at Chundukwa River Lodge and Kafunta River Lodge. Chundukwa has a gorgeous setting in lush forest on the banks of the Zambezi river. It is perfect for travellers seeking a peaceful base camp in the Vic Falls region. And Kafunta is very pleasantly located too, on the edge of the South Luangwa and boasting the only natural hot tub in all Zambia!

Days 1–3 Livingstone

KLRS7693

On Day 1 of your honeymoon, you will fly out to Livingstone and transfer by road to Chundukwa River Lodge. We love the peaceful forest location of this lodge, as well as its beautiful river views! The communal building is constructed from classic timber, thatch, and stone, blending effortlessly into the natural surroundings. The lounge is very comfortable, the dining room is elegant, and both areas flow out on to a deck incorporating a stunning rock plunge pool. Chundukwa’s guest accommodation includes five thatched chalets, all with views of the Zambezi river. The name of each chalet is inspired by the local birdlife – Bee-eater, Honeyguide, Francolin, Jacana, and Kingfisher. We have chosen Kingfisher for you, as it has a nice big bed and a particularly luxurious en-suite bathroom! As far as activities are concerned, you can spend time in the national park, enjoying such pursuits as game drives, rhino walks, elephant-back safaris, and horse riding – Chundukwa has its own stables. And you can also travel to Vic Falls for all the wild watersports, in addition to river cruises, helicopter rides, and a delightful jaunt on the steam train!

Board basis and activities:
Full-board accommodation including all meals, local beverages, and lodge activities.

Days 4–7 South Luangwa National Park

KRL fireplace main

For the second and final part of your honeymoon, you will fly out to the South Luangwa National Park, for your stay at Kafunta River Lodge. This property is superbly situated overlooking the Luangwa river! Its communal lodge is a traditional thatch-roof structure, housing a sumptuous lounge, dining space, and bar. All areas join a deck, where you can sit together and marvel at views of the river and of a busy waterhole. You can enjoy al fresco dining on the deck too. Other amenities include a spa, a fire-pit, an infinity pool, and the Luangwa Valley’s only natural hot tub! This tub has been created from a geothermal source in Kafunta’s grounds and it is perfect for a little relaxation after a day in the national park. Each of the eight guest chalets has a laidback feel too! These were refurbished just three years ago and we love their African décor. Every chalet has a private veranda, where guests can sit back and watch the river. It’s a great spot for photo opportunities, as is the lodge’s hide, which is underneath the communal deck. Kafunta offers day and night game drives, and walking safaris. The national park is accessed via the property’s own pontoon, or via 4 by 4 through the main gate at Mfuwe. An impressive amount of wildlife roams this area, including lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and numerous other predators and plains game. The birding is equally amazing – there are over 450 species!

Board basis and activities:
Full-board accommodation including all meals and snacks, standard drinks (excluding premium brands), game drives, walking safaris, national park entry fees, Conservation & Community levy, transfer from Mfuwe Airport, and a laundry service.

On Day 8 of your honeymoon, you will transfer to Mfuwe and fly to Lusaka to connect to your international flight home.
