This Great Migration calving season trip occurs from December - March and covers both the spectacular Ngorongoro Conservation Area and the South Serengeti! It involves excellent game viewing and guiding from some luxurious yet authentic camps.

The adventure starts in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you’ll visit the Ngorongoro Crater for some wonderful wildlife viewing! After two nights here, you’ll fly to the fantastic South Serengeti to witness the Great Migration calving season on the short-grass plains. In both areas, we have chosen a highly luxurious property for your base camp! The trip is also suitable for couples, groups, and families.

You will begin at Entamanu Ngorongoro, a smashing little camp on the crater rim. And for the second part of your trip, you’ll stay at two of the superb Serian’s camps – Kusini and Kakessio. The price of your stay at both properties includes use of a private vehicle and private guide – and at extra cost, you can enjoy the Serengeti on foot!

Days 1-2 Ngorongoro Conservation Area

On Day 1 of your trip, you’ll fly out to Kilimanjaro International Airport. Here you’ll experience a VIP Meet and Greet before flying on to Lake Manyara Airstrip (50 mins). A shared road transfer brings you from the airstrip to Entamanu Ngorongoro. Run by Nomad Tanzania, this camp is located well away from the cluster of properties in the Ngorongoro area and it boasts breathtaking views. The communal lounge and dining areas are housed in a modest mess tent, and there’s a really friendly atmosphere. You’ll stay in a safari tent, benefiting from a comfy bedroom with separate seating area as well as well-appointed en-suite facilities. On the day after your arrival, you’ll enjoy an expertly guided game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater. Wildlife highlights include all Big Five, numerous smaller predators and herbivores, and ample birdlife!

Board basis and activities:
Full-board accommodation, including three meals daily, all drinks (except premium wines and champagne), shared scheduled activities including one game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater, transfers between camp and Lake Manyara Airstrip, and a laundry service.

Days 3-6 Serengeti National Park

On the third day of your adventure, you’ll return to Lake Manyara Airstrip via shared road transfer. Then you’ll board a plane bound for Serengeti South airstrip (1 hr 45 mins), touching down in time for another shared road transfer to Serian’s Serengeti Mobile Kusini. You’ll stay at this exciting camp for two nights, enjoying its classic mess tent for lounging and dining, as well as your own private tent featuring comfortable bed, Moroccan rugs, and private veranda with amazing views over the South Serengeti! The main activity here is expertly guided game drives, showcasing the Great Migration’s calving season on the short-grass plains. The months from December to March are a spectacular time to be in the park, with huge herds of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelles dropping their young, and plenty of big cats on the prowl! For the last two nights of the trip, you’ll move to Serian’s Serengeti Mobile Kakessio. Pitched in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, this camp is just as well appointed as Kusini, and it too offers great game drives over the Serengeti’s southern plains.

Board basis and activities:
Full-board accommodation, including all meals, selected house alcoholic drinks, soft drinks, game drives from a private open-sided 4×4 game drive vehicle, and a laundry service.

On Day 7, you’ll have a shared road transfer from Serian Serengeti South to Serengeti Mwiba airstrip, before flying to Kilimanjaro International Airport (1 hour 30 minutes) in time for your flight/s home.
