"Situated in a private reserve just north of the vast Central Kalahari Game Reserve, Dinaka offers something completely different. The ecosystem supports many animals that you are less likely to see in other areas of Botswana. Impala make way for springbok, kudu for oryx, and you might even see a bat-eared fox."

Dinaka is owned and operated by Ker & Downey, a company that aims to provide exclusive safari experiences! The new camp will be suitable for most types of traveller, including families. Dinaka Camp is open all year round.

Most travellers to Dinaka Reserve approach by air or road from Maun. The setting is thrillingly remote, perfect for anyone seeking an authentic safari. It is situated in the Dinaka reserve, an area of 200 square kilometres within the north region of the Central Kalahari.

Guest accommodation at Dinaka consists of eight safari tents, including one tent for families. All will be connected to the communal building along wooden walkways. A standard tent contains either a double bed or twin beds, mosquito nets, bedside tables and lighting, a writing desk and chair, a separate seating area, storage chests, a tea-and-coffee station, and en-suite facilities comprising flush toilet and washbasin, as well as indoor and outdoor showers with hot and cold running water. The family tent has an extra bedroom for children.

  • Dinaka’s activities focuses on seeing the wildlife of the Central Kalahari, by way of game drives, guided bushwalks, and viewing from hides.
  • Game drives are available during the morning and from late afternoon into early evening. Guests can enjoy sightings of predators such as lion, leopard, cheetah, and brown hyena, in addition to herbivores including giraffe and antelope species.
  • If you are a keen birder, you can look out for over 200 types of feathery friends, among them pale chanting goshawk and kori bustard. The camp’s guided bushwalks will present exciting opportunities to learn about the birdlife of the reserve, in addition to the insect and plant life of Dinaka. And if you want to get really close to the animal action, you will relish access to the camp’s hides. Some are set up close to waterholes, for fantastic photo opportunities! The camp has a sleep-out deck too.

*This property is unfenced and located in a wildlife area, so large and potentially dangerous animals do pass through. If you opt to stay here, always be alert when walking around the camp and request for a member of staff to escort you if you have any concerns. Any guest is escorted after dark as a matter of course.
